BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to

What is Botox?
The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name BOTOX®, is a popular non-surgical injection
that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck.
The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother,
more refreshed appearance. Studies have also suggested that BOTOX® is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive
sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes.
How is BOTOX® injected?
® Cosmetic is administered in the office by appointment. Small amounts of BOTOX® Cosmetic are injected into the facial
muscles using a very tiny needle.
Your Botox Treatment
A BOTOX® treatment typically takes 10 to 15 minutes during which time Dr. Keyes will administer a few tiny injections into
the treatment area. Within days you will notice an improvement in the treated area, which can last up to 4 months (BOTOX®
treatment results may vary for different individuals). Dr. Keyes will determine where to administer the injections by examining
the muscles that cause wrinkles. The correct dosage to smoothen affected wrinkles will then be decided. Any possible discomfort
due to BOTOX® injections is usually minimal and brief and can be controlled with topical anesthetics and/or ice packs. There
is virtually no recovery time required for your BOTOX® injections. You may return immediately to your regular daily routine.
